Trip to Praiano in April of 2008
I will be traveling to Praiano in April of next year. We are staying in Praiano and would like to travel to Ischia for one night during our stay. What is the best way to get to the island from Praiano. Also, how much walking along the Amalfi coast is possible from Praiano? Any advice would be most appreciated! Andree :D

Praiano - Ischia and Praiano hiking
You can get a bus to Positano, and a ferry to Sorrento/Ischia from there. You might have to change ferry in Sorrento, but you can also find a direct ferry to Ischia. Ask locally for timetables and fares, they change every summer. Another option is reaching Amalfi by bus and getting a direct ferry from there. Start this trip a little early in the morning (9 or so). Praiano is close to the Path of the Gods. The longest and most famous hike on the Amalfi Coast. So ask how to reach that (some stairs on the way up) from Praiano, and then you can hike as long as you like. Remember to always bring at least one other person with you, and a mobile with the italian emergency number (113). The hike is safe anyway and can also be done is sectors of course (less tiring). Ask locally for a map, it's a very good idea to take one with you on a hike here.
